The business unit "Content" combines the holding company's production operations, which carry out theatrical and TV production assignments for pubwebs and private broadcasters, as well as corporate video productions for major companies.
The business unit "Rights & Distribution" comprises the rights library, licensing, sales & acquisition activities of the Bavaria Film Group.
We monetize rights to our classics such as "Das Boot" as well as current productions like long-running series "Storm of Love". Distribution companies Bavaria Media and Global Screen maintain internationally active distribution networks for sales & acquisition of TV and film rights. And with our share in Enterprises Sonor Music, we play a prominent role in European film publishing.
In the area of licensing, we market international merchandising rights to popular themes and characters such as the "Janosch" books and well-known brands such as "playmobil" or "emoji". In the area of Home Entertainment, our EuroVideo Media subsid handles program distribution on DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs or Downloads to commercial clients in German-speaking territories (GSA).
The subsids combined in the "Studios & Services" unit provide a one-stop shop for all your production needs: On our 30-hectare (74 acre) studio lot in Grünwald south of Munich, we operate twelve state-of-the-art film and TV studios, from 50 to 3150 square meters (530 to 34000 square feet). Numerous interior and exterior sets are available, along with the whole range of production services, including remote broadcast vehicles, set building, props, costume department and post.
Many German media firms are headquartered on our 30-hectare studio lot in Grünwald outside of Munich – including RTL II, Tele 5, home shopping channel 1-2-3.tv, HerbX Films or Arri. We will further increase the attractiveness of our almost 100-year-old lot and grow it into a major modern motion picture campus with a leading role in the digital film and TV world.
In the digital world, collaboration, networking and combining units into a critical mass are essential strategies. To this end, we want to work together with firms and filmmakers to explore potentials and possibilities for collaboration going forward.
